We reopen on the 23rd January – 3rd February 2012

Term 1 has started with the most amazing weather at after school care, so we are making the most of the warmer season and we swim in the school pool every afternoon.  Bring your childrens togs and towel each day if possible…… we will still continue to do children’s homework and ready, both before and after the swim session.

Our wonderful junior block at Glendowie Primary has been damaged due to a horrific fire that started on Friday evening.  

The devastation caused by the fire was immense, it  was at the rear of the school, which is our junior area.  We have lost our fantastic junior resource room, Rooms 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 26,  The mini hall,  the junior playground, the caretakers room, the art room, plus there was damage to the new freeman block as well as a bit of bubbled paint and cracked windows to the classes opposite.

What a huge blow, and is a very emotional time for our close knit community, but what I have seen so far, is a community that is strong and will work together to make amazing things happen, so this will not affect our community spirit. I know that we can all pitch in and do what we can to help. 

Oscars will still be operating, as planned from the 10th January 2011, as the fire was at the rear of the school, and the hall is at the front of the school, so was unscathed by the fire damage.

It is almost holiday time – and we are currently taking bookings for our winter programme.  During the term we asked the children at OSCARS After School Care, to tell us what activities they would really like to do in the holidays – keeping in mind that it will be winter and the weather will be colder – we incorporated their ideas and suggestions in to this holiday programme (all except the trip to the Gold Coast, Australia! haha – sorry kids!)  Our holiday programme is filled with exciting and varied activities and new adventures to entertain children aged 5-13years.  There is something for everyone!  We are proud to offer a fun, safe and caring place for children to attend during out of school hours. Places are limited – so book in quick!Click here to download the latest holiday programme:july holiday programme 2010
